eNews for the start of summer!
As Fr. George and I announced last weekend, Bishop Salvatore Matano has appointed me as Parochial Vicar for the
Church of Our Lady of Peace
(St Stephen & St Francis) in Geneva, NY to assist Fr. Thomas Mull with his pastoral ministry, especially with the Hispanic Community that attends this Parish. Right now I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I feel sad to leave these two beautiful communities at Assumption and Resurrection, on the other hand I am looking forward to meeting a new community, bringing them the gospel of Jesus Christ, and facing the new challenges God is preparing for me and for my priestly ministry.
I am thankful to God and to the Diocese of Rochester for allowing me to minister in Fairport during this year. What really enriches our lives as priests is the opportunity to meet a lot of people, different kinds of personalities, backgrounds, men and women with profound faith, children, young people, etc. Since I came to Rochester I have been in 8 different parishes: St Thomas More/Queen of Peace, St Louis, Holy Cross, Our Lord of Resurrection (in Maryland), Peace of Christ, Assumption and Resurrection.
Each parish becomes a real home, family and a school of faith for us, and believe me, we receive more from you, our beloved parishioners, the people of God, than what we can offer you. So thank you very much for your friendship, for your care and support during my short time here. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you will pray for me also as I continue my journey and service to the people of God.
I will really miss you.
God bless you All,

A reflection for the end of the school year...for all students, and teachers, young and old.
The school year has brought with it the experience of growing closer to the person God has created you to be. The school year brought the gifts of teachers and learning, and ends with a great sense of accomplishment and...relief.
The school year has been more than learning facts about science or history or math or even new skills in art. The school year has held each of you in the love and drama of friends; the differences and similarities of groups, and provided opportunities for making choices.
However, the school year is almost over and summer dawns with freshness and excitement. What are we going to do with this summertime?
This community of faith wishes for you lots of rest; that you will find a something wonderful to read, that you will be safe, that you will have plenty of time for fun with family and friends, and that your walk with God will bring you closer to a place of wonderful surprises about who you are in God’s eyes.
We offer you these blessings in the name of God the creator of summertime, the sustainer of our faith, and the holy presence that is with us all the time in darkness and in sunshine, the cold of winter and the warmth of summertime.
Blessings to all of you!
